OK Clean Water Project partners with Engineers Without Borders
The OK Clean Water Project and the Engineers Without Borders, Cambridge Branch, Cambridge University, England, have established a working partnership to complete a water project in the village of Sakir, Kumbo, Cameroon. The partnership is detailed in a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two organizations. In July 2011, a team of Engineering students from Cambridge University and from Cameroon had finished part of Phase 1 of the three-phase project. The rest of Phase 1 will be finished by March 2012. Phases 2 and 3 are scheduled for 2012-2013. In addition to local logistical support to the students, the OK Clean Water Project contributes about 60% of the project’s estimated costs.
